What happens when hair color and raising money for a good cause collide? Joel Miller, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, learned just that when he colored his hair pink after raising over $1,000 for
Juvenile Diabetes Research. Joel challenged his friends, family, and coworkers to help him raise money with the promise that if he raised over $1,000 he would color his hair. Each one dollar donation earned his sponsors a vote to pick the color. Obviously, the color pink won.
I thought I would share this fund raising idea! While going bright pink may not be your cup of tea, maybe a
Locks of Love fund raiser, or perhaps a few crazy highlights in bright red would be less drastic. I loved seeing Joel "use his head" to raise money for a good cause and hope it will inspire others to do the same.
